Hello, my name is Chanel Wilson
I am passionate about using assessments to unlock potential and overcome any barriers. I value creating a warm and supportive environment where individuals feel at ease during the assessment process. My goal is to provide deep insights, strategies for growth, and to leverage a person’s strengths to assist individuals and organisations to make informed decisions and enhance their lives through the use of comprehensive, evidence-based psychometric tests, as well as providing a caring, supportive, and collaborative interpersonal approach.
I believe that every person has unique strengths, and my role is to help uncover those strengths while identifying any barriers that might stand in the way. I also believe that early intervention is key to helping individuals achieve their goals and allow them to impact the world with their unique abilities and interests. Whether it’s preparing a child for school, supporting academic success, planning for a future career, or helping a business build strong teams, I approach each assessment with care, professionalism, and a focus on the individual’s needs.
I have a special interest in career guidance as my own experience with psychometric assessment during my high school career shaped the decisions and path I have followed throughout my life. The information made me feel empowered and ready to take on my future and my goal is to provide the same experience for my clients.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, doing DIY projects or arts and crafts, and spending time with family and friends. I am a wife and mother to a wonderful little boy and fur children who keep me on my toes. This balance keeps me grounded and energised in the work I love to do.

I completed my internship under the supervision of an educational psychologist where I conducted cognitive-scholastic assessments, concessions or accommodations for examinations assessments for students, career assessments and assessments to assist with high school recommendations with children, adolescents, and young adults. I wrote and passed the board exam with the HPCSA (with a distinction) to register as a Psychometrist in 2023. I have worked with a wide range of clients, including learners of all ages, educational environments, and cultures, as well as parents, teachers, and employers.
Throughout my training, I volunteered as a school facilitator assisting a Matric learner with a traumatic brain injury; an interventions assistant for the Tears Foundation assisting victims of domestic violence; and an assistant for Equine Therapy for children with special needs.
Prior to obtaining my post-graduate qualifications, I spent 7 years working in special needs education administration and support for the Gauteng Department of Education and served on a school governing body for 2 of those years. I also have experience and training in childcare both locally and internationally.
I now run my own practice from my home in Olivedale, Johannesburg, since January 2024, where I offer in-person and online assessments. In order to provide the best service possible, I attend as many Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops, seminars, lectures, and training sessions as possible to stay up to date with industry standards and developments. I am always looking for new learning opportunities and hope to pursue a Masters degree in the near future.
